STEP #1 – You Must Have A Product To Sell
To make money online, you first need an in-demand product to sell for a profit. When choosing a product, look for the following:
- Ensure that it is a digital product. By digital I mean that it could be an ebook or software or audio/video training for easy download. This will be beneficial to you because you will not have to worry about finding somewhere to store bulky inventory. It will be beneficial to your prospects because the product is easily accessible immediately after they have made their purchase. For example ClickBank.com, WarriorPlus.com, DigiStore24.com and JVZoo.com are common networks. If you do physical products, ensure that the affiliate network does all of the shipping for you.
- Ensure the product has a high profit margin. Getting traffic (website visitors) to your offer can become costly. - Ensure that the product has recurring affiliate commissions. As I indicated before, getting traffic to your website or offer can become costly over time. Therefore you do not want to be spending money or time to just make one sale and never hear from the buyer again. Instead offer a product that they will have to use every month. As a result, you get paid each time they renew their purchase or membership. Examples of this type of products are web hosting products, software, coaching services. If you are not able to find a product that has recurring commissions, then you can always fall back on your email list. Make sure you are building an email list. An email list will allow you to present new offers to your subscribers as often as you wish so that income is always flowing to you.
STEP #2 – You Must Have An Automated Marketing Funnel
Having an online business means that your business and service will be available globally. As a result, people from all over the world who live in different time zones will have access to your website or offer. You will not be available to manually walk them through the buying process and deliver the goods to them on a 24 hour basis. As a result you will need an automated selling system or marketing system that will do all the explaining, follow-up and selling for you.

STEP #3 – You Must Have Traffic To Your Offer
Even if you have the best product or service with a complete marketing funnel system, if there is no one to enter your store (marketing system) to see your offer, you will NOT make any money online. Quality traffic is the lifeblood of your business; therefore you must find ways to generate targeted traffic to enter your marketing system.
There are free traffic methods such as YouTube and Facebook marketing, as well as paid traffic methods such as PayPerClick, and Solo Ads.
While you may not have to spend any money upfront on free methods, you will have to spend hours online when using free traffic methods. It can take hours creating and editing a video to post on YouTube and then have to wait for it gain traction to generate visitors.
